Labour Party Criticizes Government Over Rising Rents

The Labour Party has criticized the government following the RTB’s Q2 2025 rental index, which reported a 5.5% increase in new tenancy rents over the past year, bringing the national average to €1,680 per month.

Labour’s Housing Spokesperson, Conor Sheehan TD, stated that the government is out of touch with the realities of Ireland’s housing crisis.

He called for immediate support for Labour’s Renters’ Rights Bill to provide real protections for tenants and address the escalating rental costs.
