RTB Tribunal Awards Damages to Tenants in Cork

In Cork, the RTB tribunal ordered a landlord to pay €3,200 in damages to a migrant couple.

The tribunal found that the landlord had told the tenants they had “no rights in this country” and had failed to uphold their legal obligations.

Additionally, the tenants were ordered to vacate the property and pay approximately €8,000 in rent arrears.

This case underscores the importance of landlords understanding and respecting tenant rights, as well as the potential legal and financial consequences of failing to do so.
